Inspired by the Per.for.(h)ated Loveseat of Montreal-based designer Will Choui, this sofa collection treats upholstered furniture as an act of architectural thinking. Its low, wide rectilinear frame is constructed entirely from fine perforated steel mesh, a material that reads simultaneously as industrial and delicate, its thousands of precisely punched apertures catching light like a woven metallic textile and casting intricate shadow patterns onto every surface around it. Deep cognac velvet cushions sit within the steel structure not on top of it but inside it, held within the grid like precious objects within a display case, the contrast between the cool precision of the perforated metal and the warm sensory richness of the velvet creating a dialogue of extraordinary material tension.
