Founded in 2019 by Ilias Kennes, the story began with a deep and enduring fascination with objects that carry within them the weight of time. Pieces drawn from the furthest reaches of history and geography: the warm marbles of the Italian Renaissance, the ornate reveries of Art Nouveau, the sharp elegance of Deco, the serene authority of ancient Orientalism, and the grounded beauty of Mid-Century craftsmanship, among many others. A timeline stretching back to the 12th century and arriving, without compromise, in the present day.
What makes Nouvo Mundo singular is its approach to combining these rare and historical finds with carefully selected contemporary, reproducible pieces.
