Space age contemporary soft cube stained glass coffee table

Inspired by the Tavolo Morbido coffee table from Australian design studio Studio Mignone, this coffee table builds its entire formal argument on a single productive contradiction: the collision between the soft and the hard, the plump and the precise, the tactile and the cool. Four generously rounded cube-form legs, each one a plump inflated volume with subtly chamfered edges that invite touch as much as visual attention, support a square smoked glass top that rests between them with studied nonchalance, its dark tinted surface floating above the pale sculptural base like a considered pause in an otherwise exuberant composition. The contrast between the matte softness of the leg forms and the reflective depth of the smoked glass is the entire design, and it is entirely resolved. Available in dusty salmon, warm yellow and cool grey, each colourway pairs the same smoked glass top with a different emotional register of the base, from the romantic to the sunny to the quietly sophisticated. A table that belongs at the centre of the room and earns its place there every single day.
