In 1973, French designer Michel Ducaroy presented Ligne Roset with a sketch inspired by a tube of toothpaste folded back on itself, and the furniture world has never quite recovered. This single lounge chair pays tribute to that radical act of creative intuition, channelling the spirit of the iconic Togo fireside chair into a deeply generous floor-level form whose horizontal channelled quilting flows continuously and without interruption across backrest, seat and base, enveloping the body from every direction with the unhurried confidence of something designed entirely around human comfort. Initially met with scepticism for its famously "wrinkled newborn" appearance, Ducaroy's original design won the René-Gabriel prize for innovative furniture at its Paris debut and has remained in continuous production ever since, a testament to the enduring power of an idea that prioritises feeling over convention. Available in seven considered colourways spanning dusty pink, pure white, warm olive, navy blue, soft grey, forest green and warm buff, this is the chair for the reading corner, the bedroom, the balcony, or anywhere a room needs a reason to slow down.
