Mid-Century architectural "Eave modular sofa"

Inspired by the Eave Modular Sofa, designed by Norm Architects for Audo Copenhagen, this sectional sofa takes its formal cue from one of architecture's most quietly poetic elements: the eave, the overhanging edge of a roof that creates a sheltered threshold between inside and outside. Translated into upholstery, this gesture becomes the sofa's defining feature, the backrest rolling forward and over at each armrest end in a continuous padded arc that creates a sense of enclosure and embrace, as though the sofa is folding itself gently around those who sit within it. Three generously proportioned modules flow in sequence from a squared left end through the main seating body to a curved chaise that tapers to a softly rounded oval, the whole composition sitting low and wide with the unhurried authority of a piece designed to anchor a room rather than merely furnish it. Upholstered throughout in a deep forest green chenille whose tactile warmth invites touch as much as it rewards the eye, it arrives dressed with square and round scatter cushions that complete the composition with the ease of something that has been curated rather than assembled. A sofa that understands the room as a place of shelter, and makes that understanding felt.
