Memphis bonbon glass jar ornament

Conceived by Copenhagen designer Helle Mardahl, a Central Saint Martins graduate whose eponymous studio has made joyful chromatic excess its defining language since 2017, the Bonbon collection translates the sensory delight of the confectionary shop into a series of blown glass objects of extraordinary personality. Each piece is a composition of rounded bulbous forms topped with a contrasting disc or sphere lid in a deliberately mismatched colour, the organic silhouettes and saturated palette evoking the specific pleasure of seeing a jar of toffees and caramels and wanting every one of them simultaneously. Ranging from tall elegant jars in cobalt and lavender to small squat pebble forms in acid green and lilac, each piece functions as a bud vase, a lidded ornament or a pure decorative object, adapting to whatever role the shelf or console assigns it. A collection that understands that the most considered interiors leave room for delight, and that colour at its most unapologetic is never frivolous, it is generous.
